CSI Anyone ?!?!?!

A few months back, our other house was robbed .. we still keep that house for people looking to rent a house .. any way it was empty, except for a few chandeliers and what nots .. so the house's been vacant for quite a while .. and one day mom went there to fix something in the kitchen or something and there she finds evidence of some guy who's been living there .. with like cushions and empty food cartons and cigarette butts and stuff like that .. what she didn't find were the chandeliers, light switches, door knobs, even bathroom handles and sink knobs .. anything that wasn't part of the house; he took ..
When mom told me this .. I had a vision of me with a finger print duster and going around the house with an ultra-violet light :P but of course i couldn't tell mom that ..

So they call the police and i'm like : Pfffff good luck finding the guy ..

They surprise me and tell dad that they got prints off of a lot of stuff and that they would keep us posted .. and i'm like : YAAAAY :D

Today, as I walk into the house from work, I hear the conversation between mom and dad ..

Dad: I went to the police station today ..
Mom: And ??!?!
Dad: Yeah, the guy said that it wasn't a felony it was actually breaking and entering .. and i told him , yeah we know that, the guy went to the back door; broke it, came in took everything and walked outta the front door; which he also broke .. what's the problem ? and then the guy says yeah well since it's breaking and entering and not a felony, we can't match the prints unless he's a second time offender.

Now i'm thinking : You jackass !!! how would you know if he's a second time offender if you haven't logged in his 1st time offense ?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?! that's just stupid !!! So unless he gets caught in one of his "jobs" they won't even see if they have a match on his finger prints on file.
Ergo, steal anything you want as long as you make sure that you won't get caught ?!?!?!?!
Again .... STUPID !!!!!
I commented on police stupidity before but i couldn't resist this time :@

I get that he has procedures and he can't do anything about it .. but that's just plain stupid is what it is .. why bother taking foreign people's finger prints if you're not gonna check if they match with suspects' ?!?!?!
